Surgical Scars Treatment in Brașov
This treatment helps you visibly fade the appearance of scars, restoring a more uniform texture and a natural look to the skin.

What is the treatment for surgical scars?
Treatment of surgical scars involves a personalized and staged approach, depending on the maturation stage of the scar and the skin’s characteristics. At ArtMedica clinic, we use a combination of laser technologies and regenerative therapies to achieve the best aesthetic and functional results.
For recent scars, we intervene early, shortly after suture removal, with a vascular laser that reduces redness and prevents hypervascularization. In the following weeks, the non-ablative Frax 1550 laser can be introduced, which remodels collagen and improves the scar’s texture.
For mature scars, older than 6 months, we use fractional CO₂ laser for deep dermal remodeling and scar evening. In addition, regenerative substances may be injected, such as PRP or exosomes, which support the natural healing processes and restore skin elasticity. The goal of the treatment is to achieve a scar that is as discreet, soft, and flat as possible, as close as possible to the texture and color of healthy skin.
What are the benefits of the treatment for surgical scars?
A personalized treatment plan, adapted to the scar stage, brings visible aesthetic results and helps with optimal healing. By combining laser technologies and regenerative therapies, patients benefit from multiple advantages:
- Reduction of redness and vascularization: early intervention with vascular laser reduces redness and prevents persistent pigmentation of the scar.
- Prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars: early and personalized treatments reduce the risk of thick and unsightly scar formation.
- Improved skin texture: the Frax 1550 laser and fractional CO₂ smooth and even out the skin surface.
- Reduction of scar thickness: dermal remodeling contributes to a thinner and less visible scar.
- Color evening: combined treatments fade the color differences between the scar and healthy skin.
- Improved elasticity: the skin in the scar area regains its suppleness and mobility.
- Visible and lasting aesthetic results: the scar becomes discreet and closer to the natural texture of the skin.

How is the treatment for surgical scars performed at ArtMedica clinic?

- Initial consultation: The dermatologist evaluates the age and type of the scar (recent or mature), the skin’s appearance, and any risks of hypertrophy. Based on this evaluation, a personalized treatment plan is established.
- Treatment of recent scars (less than 6 months after the surgical procedure): Shortly after suture removal, treatment can begin with a vascular laser, which reduces redness and inflammation. In the following 2-4 weeks, the non-ablative Frax 1550 laser can be added to stimulate skin regeneration and prevent the formation of a thickened scar.
- Treatment of mature scars (more than 6 months after the surgical procedure): For old scars, fractional CO₂ laser is used, which remodels the dermis in depth, fades uneven texture, and reduces scar thickness. Depending on the patient’s needs, the treatment can be complemented in the same session with PRP or exosome injections to support skin recovery and optimize laser results.
- Post-procedure care: After each session, the patient receives clear recommendations for skin care: application of soothing creams, SPF 50+ sun protection, and avoiding sun exposure. Recovery varies depending on the laser type; for CO₂, the healing period is approximately 5-10 days.
- Monitoring and maintenance: The scar’s progress is carefully tracked through periodic check-ups. The treatment protocol is adjusted at each stage to achieve the best possible results.
